  11. SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE
  12.  
  13. Users of Microsoft Windows will appreciate Reflection 2 for 
  14. Windows. This precise VT320 emulator includes familiar 
  15. features such as pull-down menus, dialog boxes, and fully 
  16. integrated on-line help. Because Reflection uses the 
  17. Microsoft graphical user interface, training time is 
  18. minimized, while the memory management and simplified 
  19. operations of Windows increase efficiency.

  21. Installation is easy, too. Reflection 2 installs directly 
  22. from Windows and runs in standard or enhanced mode.
  23.  
  24. Reflection 2 runs any application written for Digital+s 
  25. VT320, VT220, and VT102 terminals, and connects with Digital 
  26. VAX or UNIX-based hosts. Reflection faithfully emulates 
  27. standard terminal features, including double-high, double-
  28. wide characters and VT character sets.

  30. SPECIAL FEATURES
  31.  
  32. Special features, such as resizable windows and color 
  33. customization, are standard with Reflection. Fonts rescale 
  34. proportionately when you resize a window, so all text 
  35. remains in view. Choose colors for text and background and 
  36. host attributes, and select an 80- or 132-column display. 
  37. You can also save your settings for future use.

  39. MULTITASKING
  40.  
  41. By providing access to host and Windows applications at the 
  42. same time, Reflection 2 can dramatically increase 
  43. productivity. Copy and paste blocks of text between host and 
  44. local applications, or use DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) to 
  45. pass information automatically. You can transfer large files 
  46. while you work on an application in another window. With 
  47. network or multiple serial connections to the host, you can 
  48. run multiple sessions simultaneously, viewing each in a 
  49. separate window.

  51. FILE TRANSFER 
  52.  
  53. Reflection offers exceptional file transfer capabilities, 
  54. including drag-and-drop file transfer with a display of host 
  55. and PC file directories. Send files, error-free, in ASCII, 
  56. binary, or image format over serial or network connections. 
  57. You can even specify VMS file parameters during PC file 
  58. uploads, so the new VMS file will conform to host 
  59. application requirements. You can also transfer groups of 
  60. files quickly using wildcard characters, or by highlighting 
  61. multiple file names. File transfer over LAT is especially 
  62. fast. In addition, Reflection includes a variety of 
  63. predefined settings that allow you to configure your 
  64. environment in one simple operation. Host file transfer 
  65. programs are included at no charge and are easily uploaded 
  66. from your PC. Kermit and XMODEM support are also provided.

  68. KEYBOARD MAPPING
  69.  
  70. Reflection+s KEYMAP command makes it easy to map commands 
  71. and other operations to a keystroke or key combination. Map 
  72. keys to host commands, terminal functions, Reflection 
  73. command language commands and command files, menu commands, 
  74. and character strings. You can also map a key using its scan 
  75. code. To review a list of all your mapped keys, use the 
  76. KEYMAP CHANGED command.

  78. DDE SUPPORT
  79.  
  80. Support for DDE, integrated into Reflection+s command 
  81. language, allows you to exchange data dynamically between 
  82. the host, Reflection, and other DDE-compliant Windows 
  83. applications. Using DDE, you can program Reflection to read 
  84. information from the host and automatically import it into 
  85. another Windows application. Reflection can be set up to 
  86. function as either a DDE client or a DDE server.

  91. BUTTON PALETTE
  92.  
  93. Reflection+s button palette lets you create your own buttons 
  94. to simplify operations. There are up to 40 user-definable 
  95. buttons, which you can label with text and images. Several 
  96. bit-mapped images are provided, or you can make your own. 
  97. Design unique palettes for use with different copies of 
  98. Reflection and "float" the palette anywhere on the Windows 
  99. desktop. Create as many palettes as you wish. A number of 
  100. predefined palettes are included for common routines, such 
  101. as sending and receiving files, dialing a modem, designating 
  102. a particular color configuration, and more. Buttons can be 
  103. linked to macros or command files, or they can be configured 
  104. to allow execution by host applications.

  106. COMMAND LANGUAGE
  107.  
  108. Reflection+s powerful script language lets you write command 
  109. files that speed you through logins, file transfers, or 
  110. other tasks. You can even create custom dialog boxes. 
  111. Execute or edit single commands or entire command files in 
  112. Reflection+s Command Window.
  113.  
  114. A script recorder makes creating command files almost 
  115. effortless. When recording is active, Reflection captures 
  116. the prompts sent to and from the host and records all the 
  117. commands you enter from the keyboard. Recorded scripts can 
  118. be edited, saved to a command file, or attached to a button 
  119. on the button palette for future use.

  121. PRINT MANAGEMENT
  122.  
  123. Use a Reflection dialog box to direct printing to an 
  124. assigned printer or a disk file. Bypass the Windows Print 
  125. Manager, if desired, to let host applications control and 
  126. format printing, or select an option that instructs the 
  127. printer to use the host character set.

  129. ON-LINE HELP
  130.  
  131. Reflection+s on-line help provides assistance on every menu, 
  132. dialog box item, terminal field, and command. The Help 
  133. window supports standard browsing, searching, annotating, 
  134. and bookmarking capabilities. You can also copy and paste 
  135. syntax examples from Help directly into the Command Window 
  136. to speed the creation of script files. The Windows 3.1 
  137. interface is used, even for those running Windows 3.0.

  139. INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT
  140.  
  141. Set up Reflection to use national replacement or 
  142. multinational character sets. Choose from options in the 
  143. Windows Control Panel for country, language, keyboard 
  144. layout, and system of measurement. Keymapping from scan 
  145. codes is supported, too. A compose key is also included that 
  146. lets you create special characters.

  148. FLEXIBLE CONNECTIONS
  149.  
  150. Reflection 2 delivers the same reliable terminal emulation 
  151. and file transfer over popular local and wide area networks, 
  152. including those from Novell, 3Com, Ungermann-Bass, and most 
  153. TCP/IP vendors. CTERM, NetWare for VMS, NASI, and Eicon 
  154. connections are also supported. Reflection 2 lets you make 
  155. multiple host connections within one copy of Reflection, 
  156. using one or more instances of Reflection. You can establish 
  157. up to 16 new connections, and modify, suspend, and close 
  158. connections, using the Connection menu. Reflection+s modem 
  159. dialer lets you store telephone numbers for easy connections 
  160. to various hosts.

  162. Add the Reflection Network Series (sold separately) to run 
  163. multiple host sessions with concurrent access to LAN 
  164. services. The Reflection Network Series allows PCs to run 
  165. multiple protocols on a single network interface card, and 
  166. to switch between sessions and server applications without 
  167. rebooting. Options are available to link PCs to Digital VAX, 
  168. UNIX, and HP 3000 hosts, as well as IBM mainframes with 
  169. access to TCP/IP. Novell and other popular LANs are 
  170. supported. Reflection 2 also works with Digital+s Pathworks.

  172. PPL FOR WINDOWS
  173.  
  174. Run-time support for PPL (Process-to-Process Link) is 
  175. included in Reflection 2 for Windows. The support is 
  176. provided to assist developers who use the Reflection for 
  177. Windows Software Developers Kit (sold separately) to write 
  178. client/server applications. The kit includes documentation, 
  179. on-line help, and sample applications. PPL provides DLL 
  180. (dynamic link library) interfaces to file transfer and PC-
  181. host message exchange.

  183. With support for DOS, Windows, and Macintosh platforms and 
  184. products to link personal computers with Digital VAX, UNIX, 
  185. HP, and IBM hosts, WRQ is the only software vendor to 
  186. provide such a range of connectivity choices.
